Kelsey L. Pharr Elementary School is located in Miami Florida. Named after Kelsey L. Pharr Dade County’s first licensed black embalmer and funeral director. His many civic interests and accomplishments include organizing the first black Boy Scout troop in Florida. He also was appointed as counselor for The Republic of Liberia and was knighted by the Liberian government.
